         Cavaliers

My dogs and puppies are kept in my home as family members. I have been involved with Cavaliers since 1989.  All dogs bred have current heart/eye clearances from canine specialists. I also own mother and/or grandmothers and other relatives of all girls being bred (they also have current health clearances). My breeding stock is based on top British and American bloodlines. I am a charter member of the AKC Parent Club, member of CKCSC, USA, Cavaliers of the South and secretary/charter member of our regional AKC club - CKCS of the Potomac.
Cavaliers have been bred for over 500 years to be companions, they crave the attention of people.  They are also "pack animals", and they enjoy the company of other dogs (esp. other Cavaliers).  Cavaliers don't like to be left alone for long periods of time.  They are great travelers, and are very adaptable --- as long as they get to be with their people.  They do form relationships with everyone in the family and will be following someone or sitting on a lap for most of the day.   They do need a fenced area or to be on a leash at all times when outside.  Cavaliers cannot be taught "street smarts".
